Description

This Sinister Diesel Cold Air Intake system is engineered to replace the restrictive factory air intake system in diesel trucks (though they might also make intakes for gasoline engines). The primary goal is to maximize the amount of cool, clean air that enters the engine. Diesel engines, in particular, benefit from increased airflow for improved combustion efficiency and power output.

The system features a distinctive bright blue powder-coated aluminum intake tube. The smooth, mandrel-bent design of the tube helps to minimize airflow restrictions compared to the often convoluted factory intake tubes. The blue powder coat not only provides a signature look but also adds durability and corrosion resistance.

At the end of the intake tube, you can see a large, high-flow air filter, also typically blue in color for Sinister Diesel products. This filter is designed to allow more air into the engine while still providing excellent filtration to protect it from dust and debris. These filters are often washable and reusable, making them a long-term performance upgrade.

The kit includes the necessary silicone couplers (usually black) and stainless steel hose clamps to securely connect the intake tube to the engine’s turbo inlet and the air filter. You might also see provisions for mounting sensors like the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or other intake-related components, depending on the specific vehicle application.
